Learning to read tide tables

Tide tables looked like random numbers at first. They became simple once I learned to read just two columns.

High and low water times tell you when the beach path is safe. The height difference tells you how fast the water will move.

I always plan walks around the falling tide and keep at least an hour of margin. The sea is patient, but it does not wait.
